Oliver Baer has three poems in Octopi from the Sky, an anthology from Dumpster Fire Press; he also wrote an essay about Cthulhu Sex Magazine for Adam McGovern’s Project Objectionable on HiLoBrow.com. Baer’s story “A Match is Lit” as well as his poem “Fire, fire in my mind…” are part of a collaboration with Deena Warner on her Halloween card project.

Amy Grech discussed how the horror genre has evolved for female authors over the past 20 years, the pros of cons, and share how Jack Ketchum has influenced her writing on Visited by Voices. Grech also participated in a recent group chat at Dark Between Pages with Deep Arya and Mona Kabbani, in which they discussed what inspires them and their writing process. She also appeared on Story Hour, with co-reader Rachel Unger, where Grech read an excerpt from her story, “Cold Comfort” from The One That Got Away Anthology.

This past Halloween season, Steven Van Patten received quite a bit of internet shine. After guest hosting October’s Galactic Terrors in full vampire regalia, and The Only Podcast About Movies, SVP participated in “The Heist” A live roll playing adventure based in the Vampire: The Masquerade mythos. Over 208 people watched the event, which was sponsored by Extra Credit and World of Darkness, and aired via Twitch on October 20th. You can watch this retooling of Christian Brookwater as a Toreador vampire clan Baron, leading a team of misfits as they search for a book that is the key to stopping a vampire war in Seattle on Twitch.
